What is a good slope for a driveway?

Having a sloped driveway is a perfect solution to allow water to drain away from the surface, and using gravel will gain you more traction, but without a gravel grid, you could be losing the gravel to the road and your tyre treads.

Stewart McMichan recently sent us these photos of his latest construction. Using a hardcore base, our gravel grids were secured on top and cut to the desired length and width. This ensures that the gravel remains firmly in place and the draining still continues. As each grid has anti-slip nodules on the top surface, this eliminates slipping in icy weather. If you’re worried about weeds coming through, you could also use our geotextile weed suppressant organically to stop that happening. So no need for weed killer sprays, gels or herbicide treatments. The membrane also allows fluid to pass through to help with the drainage.

Each grid is designed to hold up 500 tonnes per square metre, making them the strongest driveway grids ever made. They are also made from 100% recyclable plastic.

Compared to other surfaces, the overall cost of laying a grid-bound gravel driveway is quite affordable. Please get in contact with us if you wish to discuss your ideas in detail.
