A specially selected collection to extend the cropping season so that you can keep harvesting a constant supply of delicious, sweet strawberries from early June to November. Cropping periods can also be brought forward to extend if you are growing them in a greenhouse or polytunnel.

Collection comprises:

  • Thompson & Morgan Strawberry 'Cambridge Favourite' - The enduring popularity of Strawberry 'Cambridge Favourite' has made it one of the most well-known as best-loved varieties available. This mid-season strawberry produces a bumper crop of juicy, orange-red fruits with an excellent flavour and texture from June to July. This superb variety is reliable and tolerant of most situations.
  • Thompson & Morgan Strawberry 'Florence' - Ideal for a late season harvest producing delicious, sweet strawberries from the end of June to the end of July. A prolific cropper with exceptional pest and disease resistance.
  • Thompson & Morgan Strawberry 'Flamenco' - Try growing this ever-bearing variety to maximise your crop of delicious sweet and juicy fruits over a long picking period. From only 12 manure plants you will be able to harvest a bumper crop of 10kg (22lb) of fruit in one cropping season from mid-May to November.

Plant in autumn or late spring in a sheltered, sunny position in well manured, free draining soil. Plant strawberry runners every 45cm (18") in rows spaced at 75cm (30") apart. Spread out their roots and place them in the soil at a level where the crown of the plant is just poking above the surface. Avoid planting them too deeply as this may cause them to rot. Alternatively try growing strawberry plants in hanging baskets or in specially designed strawberry planters for the patio.

Water strawberries frequently throughout the growing season, weed regularly. When growing strawberrys in baskets and containers, they will also need feeding every two weeks. From early summer, remove any runners that are produced as these will weaken the plants.
