Started seeds indoors. Used food growing method: place seeds in mouth, under tongue for 9 mins; hold in hand and breath over them; hold to celestial bodies for at least 30 seconds; plant with fingers/toes and wait 3 days to water

Three short rows, interplanted with radishes. I put another 20 seedlings into a couple of pots because i didn't have room in the garden yet; hopefully i can find room for them in a little while.

Growing leeks from seeds hasn't worked for me in the past, so i bought 12 seedlings from an organic farmer, fingers crossed!

Didn't have a ton of luck with these last year, but oddly enough some seeds from *last year* are suddenly popping up in the main bed. So, i've begun the wintersowing experiment by putting them in a milk jug, and they'll sit in there until they've grown a bit (and the bed gets its spring tilling).

Planted in earthbox on south-facing balcony. 2014-04-07: retired most of the leeks (leek soup). 2014-06-06: retired remaining leeks.
